Day 2

Col de Petit St Bernard.

Day 3

Day 4

The 40km  2009 time trial route round the beautiful Lake Annecy.  Swim and relax by the lake, take a tandem paraglide flight or cycle the Col de Forclaz or Semnoz for a bird’s eye view of the area.  (This would be a good day for non cyclists to join you)

Day 5

The Col d'Iseran, which is the highest paved mountain pass in Europe, can be reached directly from the chalet climbing from 800m in Bourg St Maurice to 2764 at the top of the Col. Starting in Val D'Isere this is a less challenging ride but the views are spectacular.

Day 6

Sight seeing day.  Visit Chamonix and take the cable car to the Aguille du Midi with spectacular views from 3842m, or take a gentle stroll from the chalet in the Vanoise National Park.

Day 7

Cycle from the chalet over the Cormet de Roselend and either picnic by the lake or continue on to the Col de Pré and the Beaufort valley.

Day 8

The Col de Galibier from St Michel de Maurienne via the Col de Telegraph is one of the iconic climbs in the Tour De France, as well as being one of the highest and most spectacular.

Day 9

Les Arcs, La Plagne.  Both these resorts have featured recently in the Tour as mountain finishes.  Either climb one or both with a flat ride beside the River Isere in between or jump on the funicular from Bourg Saint Maurice to Les Arcs 1600.

Either cycle up the Col de Croix de Fer and down the Col de Glandon or the other way round depending on how energetic you are feeling.  Alternatively take a local ride in the Tarentaise valley.
